During the 1993 World Handball Championship, cinematographer Johan Hellsten felt that the pain in his back and shoulders was threatening his career. That was when the idea for Easyrig was born – a camera support system that distributes the weight of the camera across the entire upper body. Today, Easyrig sells its products in more than 50 countries. Lindevall Defence and Industry ensures the supply of harnesses for two of their best-selling products.
Sold Around the World
When Easyrig was launched, it quickly became a popular tool for cinematographers around the world. For Johan himself, it meant that he could extend his career by 20 years. Today, he says he can promise his customers at least another 10 years behind the camera.
The high demand for Easyrig’s products requires a supplier with both substantial capacity and a high degree of flexibility. After ten years, Lindevall remains a trusted partner for Easyrig.
“Lindevall has the capacity to handle large orders from us, which is why we have them manufacture the harnesses for our best-selling products. At the same time, Lindevall is flexible, and their short lead times allow us to make quick adjustments to both design and order volumes,” says Johan Hellsten, CEO of Easyrig.
Reliable Deliveries and Responsiveness
When Easyrig began working with Lindevall, they needed a harness for a new product. Lindevall was able to quickly provide design proposals and start production. Johan describes Lindevall as a reliable supplier whose delivery performance is essential to Easyrig’s continued expansion.
“They are exemplary when it comes to communication. They listen carefully when we come up with new ideas, and they always deliver on time,” says Johan Hellsten.
Sustainable Deliveries
For Easyrig, it is a matter of course that its products should be manufactured in Sweden. Not only does this help keep jobs in Sweden, but it also enables Easyrig to offer more sustainable products.
The short distance between Östersund and Umeå enables Lindevall to make regular deliveries in smaller quantities. On the return journey, they can also collect and reuse Easyrig’s cardboard boxes and pallets.
“Lindevall’s location in Östersund is strategically advantageous. The short distance helps reduce carbon emissions, while also allowing us to place orders in small batches and avoid having to maintain a large inventory ourselves,” says Johan Hellsten.
